We are proud to announce that the all-new StreamXpert 2.0 release is now available for downloading from our (also brand new) website. StreamXpert 2.0 brings a new modern ribbon-based user interface, providing quick access to all application settings, and improving on the already highly appreciated ease of use of the existing GUI.

StreamXpert 2.0 - The new GUI look

A revamped video analysis and decoding core adds support for video standards like HEVC,AVS and decoding of 4:2:2 and 10-bit video. Decoding of MPEG-2 and AVC video is - obviously - still supported and the new decoding core enables easy addition of new video codecs (e.g. JPEG-2000 video) in the future. Another highlight on the video decoding front is a full-screen option with support for multi-monitor PCs.

On the audio side we have worked with Dolby to include a new improved AC-3 and E-AC-3 audio decoder, as well as bringing support for analysis of Dolby AC-4 audio to the StreamXpert.

StreamXpert 2.0 is available in two versions: (1) the Full version (DTC-320-SX) which includes all StreamXpert functionality, and (2) a lower-priced Lite version (DTC-321-SL) with decoding and basic recording functions only. The Lite version replaces the DtTV application that has been discontinued as of October 1^st 2015.

StreamXpert Lite

• StreamXpert Lite (DTC-321-SL) is a basic version of StreamXpert 2.0 that supports simple recording, decoding and transport-stream “Table of Contents” functions.
• StreamXpert Lite uses the same software as StreamXpert 2.0, and it is installed with the same installer (so there is no StreamXpert Lite installer). The software will check the installed licenses. If a valid SX v2 license is detected, it will start at the full StreamXpert 2.0. If an SL license is found, but no SX, the software will run as StreamXpert Lite. If neither an SX nor an SL license is found the software will indicate that no valid license was found.
• StreamXpert Lite replaces DtGrabber+ and DtTV, but has less functionality than these two applications.
• Compared to DtGrabber+, StreamXpert Lite can just do simple recording and there is no support for looped, multi-file or scheduled recording, nor for recording of SDI, nor for SNMP management.
• Compared to DtTV, StreamXpert Lite cannot decode SDI (will be added later), nor will a mosaic of decoded video be supported.

Replacement of DtGrabber+ and DtTV by StreamXpert Lite

• • From Oct 1^st onwards DekTec will not sell DtGrabber+, nor DtTV licenses anymore. For this reason DTC-310-DP, DTC-312-SDP and all –DP and –SDP bundles have been removed from the Q4 price list.
  • The –DP and –SDP bundles license will be replaced by the bundles –SL (StreamXpert Lite) and –SLP (StreamXpert Lite + StreamXpress player), with the same price.
  • The price of all SX and SXP bundles has become slightly lower (because DP is removed).
